Stephen's Political Manifesto

KAMULI DESERVES BETTER

As a Christian leader, I believe Kamuli needs sanity and tolerance in its leadership. Our people are tired over blame games by the government and their elected leaders in Kampala. For quite a number of years, the government accuses elected leaders for failing government programs within the capital and the elected leaders also blame the government for failing their leadership in the city.

As leaders, we should be peace makers. We are entrusted by our people to unite not to divide, bring togetherness, development, reconciliation not war. Our capital needs service delivery. Majority of our young people in the capital are jobless due to the high and unfavorable taxes by the Municipal Council and URA and the indiscipline of some of their enforcement, there is too much chaos in the District's transport system and our hygiene is at stake.

These are some of the issues that i will immediately handle as the next District Chairperson in office to regain the glory of our District - Kamuli. I equally wish to use my position as the District Governor to lobby for the tangible and financial support for our Unemployed young people in Kamuli who are the Majority as well as promoting ICT among youths. Young people, this is our time to change Kamuli and Uganda as a whole. I call upon our seniors to support my cause and together let's invest in building bridges not walls.

From my past experiences I have been creating awareness about the youth challenges through my knowledge and circles. This has attracted donors, partners that have in turn supported the youth in our organization and helped them set up self-sustainable business. In the same spirit I will be lobbying for aid and finances from teams and organizations abroad for the support of the education of underprivileged children who are the light and hope of our District.

MY PLEA

We are always delighted to create platforms and opportunities for our young people to share experience, learn and network on a diverse background. But as we drive young people into taking the lead,

A). Governments should strive to;
  • Create an environment / platform that gives youths chances, confidence and courage to participate in the development of their communities.
  • Engage youths at all levels of Decision making.
B). Fellow young leaders should;
  • Understand that solutions to challenges we face in fulfilling our passion are within us.
  • Always accept, fight to take challenges/risks and in patience, handwork, commitment, believing God / in thyself, your vision shall flourish.
  • Embrace & keep the spirit of volunteerism (It's not all about money / or having time but a heart and those priceless actions you take).
  • Learn to live simple / a humble life that others can live (the poverty some of our nations in Africa face is not because we have no resources, it is because of the greedy of our leaders).
C). Elders should;
  • Retire before they tire and wore out. A spirit of succession must be restored in this country and allow the young generation take up position of leadership when the old are still alive.
